Gallery–-2007 New York Auto Show: This year, New York had an impossibly empty feel to it. The frenetic energy of years past, when the show had a jittery shout, was gone, replaced by a murmur. Sure, new vehicles like the Ford Flex debuted, but perhaps the biggest news came from upgrades such as the Infiniti G37 or Jeep Liberty.
Indeed, the most important vehicles were concepts, like the Infiniti EX, a near-production crossover, and Hyundai’s Genesis, a future V8-powered "luxury" sedan. In the end automakers jumped onto the biggest stage, and the biggest news they had was what wasn’t live from New York. At the end of the domestic auto show season, maybe the most important thing was to just go home and sell some cars.
